![]() "The Dog Days of Summer" we call them, not that I know what the dog did to be blamed for the hot and sticky weather we have at this time of year. But what the dog did not do, was to issue lots of new software which is coming through our electronic mail box every day. This time of year is an opportunity to get up to date with the new releases of software in good time before the serious work starts after Labor Day. Let's take this moment, when there is a little less pressure from management for reports and numbers, to put our house in order in good time. Sage Accpac ERP is just releasing its version 5.4, Sage Pro ERP is matching this with 7.4 and, not to be outdone, Sage/Accpac CRM is shipping version 5.8 and giving us ideas about the goodies in version 6.0 which is not a hundred miles away. Our colleagues at MAS90/200 are rightly proud of the new 4.1 version and MAS500 is now shipping version 7.0. For those running Sage SalesLogix CRM the magic number is 7.0, which is being released this fall. To match all the activity in upgrades being done over the summer, Net@Work is presenting clients with new ways to protect their software and hardware investments - later in the newsletter you will see Net@Work's new Network Monitoring Service being announced and we are preparing maintenance plans for the each of the software families. All this allows better budgeting for our clients, and with the summer upgrades, should lead to a smooth ride for the coming winter. And finally, we hope our newsletter will give you relevant information on what's happening in technology and at Net@Work. If you have any questions, comments or ideas that you would like to see included in future issues please email me at . |
