Product Alert for Sage 100 Version 2018 or Earlier
If You Use Paperless Office to Email – Please Read Below
Recent news came out that Microsoft plans to discontinue the support for Transport Layer Security (TLS) versions 1.0 and 1.1 in Office 365 and Office 365 GCC as of June 2020 in order to protect data security. This means that starting June 2020, any commercial and GCC devices or services that connects to Office 365 by using TLS 1.0 and 1.1 will not succeed.
The following systems and devices are known to be unable to use TLS 1.2. You will need to update the following to ensure uninterrupted access to the service:
- Android 4.3 and earlier versions
- Firefox version 5.0 and earlier versions
- Internet Explorer 8-10 on Windows 7 and earlier versions
- Internet Explorer 10 on Windows Phone 8
- Safari 6.0.4/OS X10.8.4 and earlier versions
Older versions of Sage 100 may use TLS 1.0 for emailing which will cause issues once Microsoft disables the use of this older protocol.
Sage has said they will only update versions 2018 and 2019 to TLS 1.2+ which will cause older Sage 100 versions using paperless emailing to have issues once Microsoft disables TLS 1.0.
With the changing technologies, we recommend users stay current with the latest version of Sage 100 (for most users this means upgrading every other year) to ensure compatibility.
