Project Management – Overhead or Asset?
By: Debbie Bainbridge, Project Manager
So you have decided to upgrade your accounting system or add a warehousing solution and in looking over the cost estimate, there you see the dreaded line for “Project Management”. While you may be thinking this is just a place for the company to bury their overhead, an effective project manager can actually be your biggest asset.
The project manager works behind the scenes to make the project flow seamlessly. They spend time scheduling resources, contacting third parties and suppliers and developing a work plan to ensure that the right resources are available at the right time. They coordinate calls to make sure that the project is running smoothly and most importantly keep a running list of tasks to be completed to make sure things don’t slip through the cracks. When everyone else is busy, they are a constant source of contact that gets you the answers you want in a timely fashion. And if delays do occur, they keep everyone informed and minimize the downtime. This results in a successful project that is completed on time and within budget.
At Net at Work we apply project management best practices to all our client projects. Contact us today for more information on how we can help your project run smoothly and successfully!
