Updates for Sage 300
As we welcome in fall, change is upon us. Sage has launched Sage300cloud Version 2021 and completed product updates for 2020, 2019 and 2018. Please note with this release 2018 is in sunset mode and will be supported until December 31, 2020. Sage 300 v2021 has some exciting new features to enable your staff and clients to self-serve and work remotely.
COVID-19 Impact
COVID-19 has impacted every person and company world wide. Normally, this time of the year, we are venturing out to have our in person lunch-and-learns across Canada and the United States. With COVID and the safety of our clients in mind, we will not be doing our in person lunch and learns but we will be hosting webinars to showcase ways you can transform your business operations with a remote workforce.
With the release of 2021, many of our clients will need new technology in your offices. Microsoft O/S (Operating System) and SQL 2019 and 2016 are the versions that are supported. Also, from a workstation perspective only Windows 10 is supported.
What Does This Mean?
If you are on version 2018 or earlier you should be considering an upgrade of your system. Please note that CIP, T4, 1099 and W2 information will be updated for 2018 year-end reporting but after that no new tax updates will be provided for 2018. If you are on versions 2017 and earlier, you need to upgrade before year-end even to get your 1099’s or CIP’s out at year-end.
Hosting Options
Many of our customers are faced with upgrades this year to keep their company data safe and stay on supported platforms. To ease the pain of migration to new servers and systems and with the new hardware requirements for workstations and for servers, consideration should be given to engaging in a hosted environment where your data is backed up and servers are maintained on the latest operating systems and patches. We have partnered with our sister company, Cloud at Work, to bring you a state-of-the-art data center with the personalized support and experience that both of our staffs have to help you unleash the power of your business through your technology.
Sage 300 Payroll Tax and 1099/CIP Updates
Sage 300 Payroll Tax and 1099/CIP updates are forecasted to be released in late November or early December to provide localization for both the Canada and US before the filing deadlines for 2020 are imposed upon businesses. This may mean some updates need to be done to your data, prior to printing or filing forms. Please stay tuned for more information on this as it becomes available. We will be providing webinars and assistance from our staff as needed to guide you through the changes from COVID that have impacted each of our businesses.
We are planning all of our customer upgrades and installs for the year. Please connect with your Net at Work account manager or consultant to plan your company activities for 2020 and 2021.
We wish your company the best of success and are available to assist with any technology needs your many have.
