Just released, Sage 100 (MAS 90) ERP 2014 continues to strengthen the connection to the cloud, giving access to web and mobile capabilities to run your business even more effectively. And as with all releases, there are enhancements requested by customers that aim to make the workday run more smoothly throughout your organization. In this post, we preview the entire Sage 100 2014 release, and drill down into the core module enhancements that are included.

Heading For The Cloud

The Sage Data Cloud allows your company to tie your on-premises Sage 100 ERP system to the cloud, so you can take advantage of new solutions that help you improve customer service, increase sales, and make better business decisions. A free connector and unlimited data storage in the Sage Data Cloud are included in Business Care. The solution currently connects to important new capabilities added over the last year, including Mobile Sales, Mobile Service, and Sage Inventory Advisor. Sage Billing and Payment has recently been added, and you can expect more cloud-based capabilities to become available in the future.

Sage Intelligence Gets Smarter

With this release, Sage Intelligence can be accessed directly from the Module Menu toolbar in Sage 100 ERP, and has also been updated to include a more streamlined user interface. Report Designer has become more flexible, and 64-bit versions of Excel are now supported. A new user-friendly reporting bundle has been added, along with a profitability dashboard that allows you to meet customer demand by identifying and focusing on high volume products, quickly identify top performing salespeople, and more quickly make decisions using meaningful graphics.

Sage CRM Integration Becomes More Seamless

The integration with Sage CRM has been rewritten to provide a more seamless, stable experience, and to allow you to take advantage of all the capabilities of Sage CRM version 7.2B. This change also allows customizations in Sage 100 ERP and Sage CRM to work together for a more seamless workflow.

Sage 100 ERP customers can now enjoy new capabilities in Sage CRM version 7.2B. These include Sales Tracker for Tablet PCs, Sales Lite for iPhones, Sage CRM for Facebook, collaboration through Yammer Groups and Yammer Topics, and smarter, more secure reporting.

Find Data Faster

Both system-wide and module-specific enhancements have been added to help find records and print reports faster. Below we cover these new features in detail.

Enhancing The Global User Experience

Sometimes it’s the little things that can make life harder or easier. Sage 100 ERP 2014 includes several enhancements that help you be more productive. The ability to use Autocomplete to find records faster has been added, and you can now keep custom report windows open. The search grid window is easier to use, and there’s a new lookup in Accounts Payable.

Autocomplete Offers Faster Access To Customers, Vendors, and Items

An Autocomplete feature has been added for customer, vendor, and item entry fields. As you begin to type in the customer or vendor name field, or the item description field, a list of records matching your entry appears, and you can select one from the list. For example, if you have vendors named American Business Futures, American Concrete Service, and Autocraft Accessories, when you type “a” in the vendor name field, all three vendors will appear in an alphabetized list, and you can select the one that you want.

You can still select records the old way by entering the customer number, vendor number, or item code.

Save Time In Custom Reports

Custom reports now allow you to keep the custom report window open after printing or previewing a report. This can save you time when you need to print or preview numerous custom reports.

Set A Default Column Name In Search Grid Window

To make searching easier when using the Search Grid window, the default value in the Column Name field of the Search Grid is now the column name of the first column in the grid. For example, in A/P Invoice Data Entry, when you click the Find Row button to open the Search Grid window, G/L Account is now the default value in the Column Name field.

Module Enhancements

Find A/P And A/R Invoices More Easily

New Accounts Payable functionality in the 2014 release provides the ability to find invoices in Invoice Data Entry and Repetitive Invoice Entry more easily with a new flashlight function that allows you to search invoices.

Similarly, the new flashlight lookup is now available in Accounts Receivable Repetitive Invoice Entry. You no longer have to select a customer before selecting a repetitive invoice in Repetitive Invoice Entry.

Keep General Ledger Financial Reports Window Open

As with Custom Reports, Financial Reports now give you the ability to keep the report window open after print or preview, saving you time when printing numerous Financial Reports.

Governmental Compliance
