From the Desk of the Employer Solutions Practice Director
As a Practice Leader at Net at Work, I see my role is to help Net at Work meet its primary goal: that of helping our customers improve their business productivity as well as helping our customers better meet their unique business needs. As I survey the issues facing our own business (Net at Work) and our customer’s businesses, the issue that seems to be top of the mind for these executives is twofold.
First is how to recruit and retain top quality employees. The next important issue is how to create a culture that maximizes the talents of those employees and bring them together working as a team all in the same direction.
Talent is not everything, it’s only the beginning:
The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don’t play together, the club won’t be worth a dime.

Within this newsletter issue we’ve provided several articles that address issues concerning the pain points for recruiting and onboarding top talent employees. In addition, we have scheduled several recruiting and onboarding webinars for March and April. We hope you are able to take advantage of these informative webinars.
As I mentioned earlier, the issue of recruiting and retaining top talent and bringing those individuals into a team that works together is a primary focus at Net at Work. It is our realization that through these efforts and creating this level of staffing we can best support our customers. Net at Work’s goal is to strive to exceed our customer’s expectations.
As an HR professional, I am proud and excited about the initiatives our HR Department has undertaken to meet these goals. I wanted to share two programs:
First, Net at Work has embraced the notion of “Topgrading” as their recruitment philosophy and approach. Topgrading is a hiring and interviewing methodology that is intended to identify high performing candidates by incorporating honesty, thoroughness and verifiability of candidate information in the hiring process.
In addition, Net at Work has initiated a program it calls “First Year Associates Program”. Under this program Net at Work has brought on a group of recent college graduates to go through an intensive mentoring and training program within the different practices at Net at Work. With a rigorous selection and training process, Net at Work believes this program will afford it the opportunity to continue to grow a very collaborative team with the stated goal of always striving to exceed our customers’ expectations.
